NSTDA and Department of Industrial Works to promote green industry in food sector and supply chain

NSTDA Innovation and Technology Assistance Program (ITAP-NSTDA) and the Department of Industrial Works launched a project to build capacity of food sector and supply chain in green technology, aiming to achieve 100% green food and supply chain industry by 2025.

This project perfectly addresses the Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) national agenda in which the food industry represents one of the focused sectors. BCG model aims to employ technology and innovation to create sustainable development and green growth.

Under this project, ITAP-NSTDA will match experts to businesses to help design the greening of industry and co-finance the implementation to get the enterprises ready to apply for the green industry certification issued by the Department of Industrial Works. The scope also includes creating green industry by enabling businesses to offer new green goods and services to the market. Green industry initiative aims to achieve the efficient use of energy and raw materials in manufacturing processes and services to create more competitive industrial development while reducing pollution and reliance on the unsustainable use of natural resources.
