On 2 March 2022, NSTDA held a press conference announcing the upcoming NSTDA Annual Conference 2022 (NAC2022) scheduled to take place from 28-31 March 2022. Joining the press conference were President Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, MTEC Executive Director Dr. Julathep Kajornchaiyakul, along with executives and staff.
Held under the theme “Revitalizing Thai Economy through BCG Research and Innovation”, NAC2022 – comprising seminars, exhibition and open house – will go fully virtual. HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhron will graciously preside over the opening ceremony on 28 March 2022. The ceremony will be broadcast on NBT Channel from 9:00 hr. onwards.
BCG stands for Bio-Circular-Green Economy which has been declared the national agenda. BCG is designed to drive sustainable economic growth and inclusiveness. The BCG Action Plan 2021-2027 aims to utilize the richness of biological and cultural diversity to strengthen four strategic sectors – agriculture & food, health & wellness, energy, materials & biochemicals, and tourism & creative economy. NSTDA is one of the key players to work with public and private organizations to drive the BCG national agenda.
NAC2022 online seminars will cover 45 exciting topics such as reviving tourism industry with wellness tourism, advancement in medical devices sector under the public-private partnership, food waste and the circular concept, the future of genomic medicine, STEM education design with the BCG model and International Webinar on COVID-19. The online platform is expected to draw a much wider audience as they can access seminar materials anytime, anywhere.
NAC2022 virtual exhibition will contain 102 displays covering innovations and projects in both the BCG Action Plan and the Artificial Intelligence Action Plan, namely 1) agriculture & food, 2) health & wellness, 3) energy, materials & biochemicals, and 4) digital & electronics.
An open house is designed to showcase technological capability and services offered by leading laboratories to businesses and investors. A total of 61 technologies and services will be presented on the virtual open house platform equipped with a special feature allowing online visitors to live chat with presenters.
Examples of innovations to be displayed at NAC2022 include plant-based egg, ManeeManao frozen lime juice, precision farming tool Handy Sense, cassava mosaic disease strip test, hypoallergenic latex gloves and disinfectant generator ENcase employing the principle of electrochemical reactions.
