Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) hosted “the 3rd ASEAN Innovation Roadmap Forum: Key Technologies and Innovations in Responding Global Challenges towards Sustainable ASEAN” on 27-29 June 2022. Attended by over 100 participants from ASEAN member countries and ASEAN dialogue partners, the event was held in a hybrid format with an onsite conference taking place at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok. ASEAN Innovation Roadmap Forum aimed at shaping the future of ASEAN through innovation.
NSTDA experts participated in multiple sessions. NSTDA Vice President Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, NSTDA Vice President was a keynote speaker in the ‘Promoting Bio-Circular-Green Economy to address New Normal’ session and a speaker in the ‘ASEAN -EU Strategic Partnership on STI Solutions towards Inclusive and Sustainable ASEAN’ session. ENTEC researcher Dr. Kampanart Silva was a panelist in ‘ASEAN Grand Challenges which affect the quality of human security and STI utilization to respond impacts and challenges’ session, whereas BIOTEC Research Group Director Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri joined a discussion panel on ‘Key Technologies and Innovation for Competitiveness/Mechanism to promote ASEAN-China STI Cooperation’.
In addition, NSTDA as the secretariat of ASEAN Network on Bio-Circular-Green Economy (ASEAN BCG Network) organized the 1st Meeting of ASEAN BCG Network on 27 June 2022. The meeting provided an opportunity for network members, including Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Singapore, to share the work on BCG in their respective countries and arrive at the future plan for the network.
NSTDA is one of the foremost agencies of Thailand in leading BCG to practice and enhance collaboration with neighboring states and seeking collaboration and knowledge from other countries to encourage stakeholders to move forward together to achieve sustainability with STI and the BCG model.
